About this site
A short note on who runs the site, what it is, and what it isn’t.
What this site is
This is a small, personal guest companion website for the apartment Travelers’ Dream / Acropolis Steps, located in Koukaki, Athens. It exists so guests who have already booked — and curious future guests — can read the house manual, browse the neighbourhood, see photos, leave tips, and message the host.
What this site is not
- It is not a travel agency and not a tour operator.
- It does not process payments and does not sell goods or services directly. No display advertising is shown.
- It is not the booking platform. All reservations and payments for the apartment are handled by Booking.com under Booking.com’s own terms. The contract for your stay is with the host as identified on Booking.com.
Affiliate links
The Excursions page contains affiliate links to Viator (a Tripadvisor company). If you book a tour through one of those links, Viator pays the site operator a small commission, at no extra cost to you. This is the only commercial element of the Site. It does not influence which tours are recommended — tours are listed because we think guests will enjoy them. A clear notice is shown on the Excursions page itself, in line with EU Directive 2005/29/EC on unfair commercial practices (transposed in Greece by Law 2251/1994). See the Disclaimer for the full statement.
Who runs it
The site is operated by the apartment’s host as a private individual. Apart from the modest Viator affiliate commissions described above, no income is generated through this Site. The host’s full legal identity, AMA short-term-rental registration number, and tax registration are disclosed where they are legally required — on the Booking.com listing for the apartment — and not republished here.
If you need to reach the operator about this website (content questions, takedown requests, privacy enquiries, anything else), please use:
- Email: hello@acropolis-steps.com
- Contact form: /contact.php
If you are an existing or upcoming guest with a booking-related question, the fastest channel is Booking.com’s messaging in your reservation, which reaches the same person.
Applicable law & supervisory authorities
Although the site is non-commercial, it is publicly accessible and processes a small amount of personal data (contact-form messages, guest tips, optional analytics). The following EU and Greek rules therefore still apply:
- Data protection: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Greek Law 4624/2019. Supervisory authority: Hellenic Data Protection Authority (HDPA), Kifissias 1-3, 11523 Athens.
- Cookies and electronic communications: ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, Greek Law 3471/2006, HDPA Guidance 2/2020.
- Out-of-court dispute resolution (informational): the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Since this site does not sell anything, there is no consumer contract with the site itself; any consumer dispute about your stay is between you and Booking.com / the host as identified by Booking.com.
