Terms of Use
The rules that apply when you use this site. Short, plain, and in line with Greek and EU consumer-protection law.
1. About these terms
By accessing or using this Site, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
The Site is a personal, non-commercial guest companion for the short-stay apartment Travelers’ Dream / Acropolis Steps in Athens, Greece, operated by the apartment’s host as a private individual. See the About this site page for the operator contact.
2. The Site does not sell anything, handle bookings, or take payments
This is an informational website. It does not offer any goods or services for sale, does not collect payments, and does not act as a travel agent or tour operator. All reservations and payments for the apartment are made through Booking.com, which is the contracting platform for the stay. Booking.com’s own terms, cancellation policies, and consumer protections apply to the booking. Visiting this Site does not create any contract for accommodation.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose, or to violate the rights of others.
- Submit content that is false, defamatory, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes intellectual-property rights.
- Attempt to interfere with the Site’s operation, probe it for vulnerabilities, or circumvent rate limits and anti-spam protections.
- Scrape, copy, or reproduce content at scale for commercial use without our prior written permission.
4. User-submitted content (tips, messages, photos)
When you submit a tip, message, or photo, you confirm that:
- You own it (or have permission to share it), and the people in any photo have consented to its publication.
- It is truthful and based on your own experience.
- It is not defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise unlawful.
You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, and moderate your submission on the Site. You can ask us to remove any submission at any time by emailing hello@acropolis-steps.com. We reserve the right to reject or remove any submission at our discretion, especially if we cannot verify it against a real reservation.
5. Intellectual property
Site design, layout, written content, and original photography are the property of the Site operator and protected by copyright. Trademarks and logos referenced on the Site (e.g. Booking.com) belong to their respective owners.
6. Third-party and affiliate links
We link to external sites (restaurants, museums, transit, Booking.com, Viator, etc.) as a convenience. We have no control over those sites and accept no responsibility for their content, accuracy, or practices.
Links on the Excursions page are Viator affiliate links. We earn a small commission if you book a tour through them, at no extra cost to you. This is the only commercial relationship the Site has. Tours are listed because we think guests will enjoy them; commissions do not influence selection or ranking. Any booking you make on Viator is a contract between you and Viator (and the underlying tour operator) under Viator’s own terms — not a contract with this Site. See the Disclaimer for the full statement.
7. Accuracy of information
We try to keep neighbourhood information, opening hours, prices and travel tips current, but cannot guarantee they are correct at all times. See the Disclaimer for the full statement of limitations.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Greek and EU law, the Site operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of the Site or your reliance on information shown on it. Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory consumer rights, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law (e.g. liability for fraud or gross negligence).
9. Changes
We may update these Terms when the Site changes. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hellenic Republic. Any dispute arising in connection with the Site itself shall be subject to the competent courts of Athens, Greece, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer (where applicable) to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
Because this Site does not sell anything, no consumer contract is formed by visiting it. Any consumer dispute about your stay is between you and Booking.com / the host as identified by Booking.com, and is governed by Booking.com’s terms.
